The Space to Write

I started blogging about a year ago and I absolutely love it. I am not a big writer. I have nothing real profound to say. I offer nothing in regard to creativity , suspense or otherwise. I blog for my own entertainment, but a piece of me, a piece that continues to grow, hopes that I can be of some encouragement to others. I hope people read what I have to say. I hope they can learn from it. I hope it can in some way benefit another. I hope to make people laugh and smile and question and learn. I hope to help people grow in themselves and in the lives of those around them. I hope to help them grow with God.

With that said, the place I choose to entertain myself with my blog is very simple. It’s not quiet. It’s not a place that I am alone. However, it is a place that is significant in my life. It’s where my children, my husband, and I come together as a family. Once at this special place,Β we tell about our day. We talk about the Lord our Savior and where He fits into our life, which just so happens to be everywhere. We talk about our dreams and our hopes. We discuss our failures and our worries. We enlighten one another with our individual thoughts. This place is where the kids and I do home-school. We sit in this place to say grace. It is our dining room table.

As I said, it’s nothing fancy, quite simple really. We have enough chairs for our family to sit down during each of our meals, give thanks to the Lord, and build closer relationships one another.

Quite a lot happens at our dining room table. However, since the children are still quite small (2-12), for now, this is the best place. In the future, I hope to have a quieter place, a place in which I can gather my thoughts and write them up without interruption.

I would love to have a corner, nestled among windows so I can have the natural lighting, the sounds of the critters outdoors, and a breeze whistling through the window screen. I have to have a table for the computer because I am not comfortable with it sitting on my lap. I’d also like to a have a big, comfy, overstuffed chair with a side table and soft-glowing lamp for when I want to read.

Maybe some day……

  1. And you think you have nothing profound to say????
The fact that you want to encourage people and cause them to question life issues, I’d say that’s pretty profound – I for one enjoying your posts πŸ™‚ thank you so much for sharing.
