So, my 3rd son is visiting with his dad for his summer visitation right now. I miss him a TON! But, he will be home tonight for a couple days.
However, we normally try to talk every day, which I love. It helps to alleviate the ‘missing him’ blues. During last night’s conversation, we talked about his day. He was explaining his day at summer school and talking about his friend he hung out with after school. He’s only 11 so my response was…well, it’s a normal. Anyway, this is that part of our conversation:
Me: What’d you do after school?
Son: I hung out with ***** (the girl), my girlfriend.
Me: Who was that you said?
Son: **** (the girl), my girlfriend.
Me: Girlfriend? Aren’t you a little young for a girlfriend?
Son: Mom? Do you say that about my girlfriend now or my ex-girlfriend when I was 8?
Me: **quiet for a moment ** Yeah, you’re to young for a girlfriend…..
My son is 11.
So, here’s an oldie quote, but a goodie ):
This is dedicated to all the moms with sons that growing up way faster than we’d like ❤
